Here are some of my favorite photos of Trey’s from our time in California, Nevada, and Utah.
In downtown San Diego is Balboa Park which that receives over 1/2 million visitors every year and contains a zoo, 14 museums, several gardens, and dozens of restaurants. This massive city park (America’s largest) was created in 1835 making it one of our nations oldest public recreation areas. One evening on our trip, Erin took us […]
Climbing out of his boat and onto shore in 1542, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo stepped into history as the first European to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States. In addition to telling the story of 16th century exploration, the park is home to a wealth of cultural and natural […]
When we would tell folks we were headed to San Diego they would always ask “Are you going to the zoo?” People spoke so highly of the San Diego Zoo that I was ready to bite the bullet and pay the $64(!!!) for Trey and I to go. However, we were blessed with a cousin […]
On Heidi’s last night in San Diego (Trey and I stayed a couple more days) we headed down to Sunset Cliffs for a picnic on the beach with Erin’s family. We spent just about every evening at the beach during our time in San Diego. Though the water was again too cold for swimming, the […]
The first beach uncle Erin took Trey to was La Jolla Cove. When we first arrived the ocean was gray and the sky was foggy. After an hour of fun we suddenly realized that things had slowly turned to an amazing shade of blue. Trey’s first Pacific Ocean experience was a bit of shock – […]

Erin and Rachel took us to the annual Adams Avenue Street Fair one really hot afternoon. The festival is the city’s largest free music festival. We spent most of our time perusing the vendors’ booths and Trey got to ride a few (overpriced) fair rides. For lunch we ate some delicious Laotian food and then […]
Heidi’s sister Rachel is a lawyer at a huge firm in San Diego. One evening we picked her up from work and got a tour of the place. Trey got to be the head honcho and sit at the head of the conference room table.
On September 23rd (Heidi’s birthday), we arrived in San Diego at Rachel’s house with its quaint white picket fence. Here are some shots Heidi took of Trey there.
